Listen Up!

So I was on a brief hiatus.... But now I'm back. Had my ears to the pavement during my entire absence so please don't think I've been sleeping. You know when you loose something it becomes motivation to build. I lost a strong connection to my heart and I've turned to hip hop to pull me through. I listened to the songs that told stories. Those verses that evoked emotions in me so strong and those tracks that took my thoughts and danced them across sheets of paper. I think I had one of those moments in my life that Mary J Blige had when her songs turned from gritty and full of pain to songs that make you wanna stop hating every man and give love a chance. Word!

So then I ventured out in search of new sounds like the ones out that put a new twist to classic songs. I also listened to classic deejays who linked up with new school artists to marry two sounds and create the sweetest melody. Word. Last but not least I had my ears wide open cruising the internet trying to hear new beats. So through this journey...I would like to share a little of what inspired me.









Let's talk about Pete Rock's
" NY Finest". FIYAH!!!!! If you hit a dry spell and need inspiration to write let the ENTIRE Cd ride out. It came out today. Pete Rock's one of my fav deejays/producers. So he needs no introduction. He hooked up with Redman, Styles P, Lords of the Underground, Raekwon.
